Favorite Photo Friday (Saturday and Sunday)

After 20 weeks - I have decided to take a break from this little blog event. Although born out of my desire to learn how to take better photos and edit them more effectively, by posting a photo and sharing that information - and encouraging questions and comments among the participants - after 20 weeks we just never got off the ground. The last two weeks there were no participants.

Canon Rebel xti with the Tamron 18-270mm lens
Focal Length: 238mm ISO: 400
Aperture: f/6.3 Shutter 1/320
Straight out of the Camera (SOOC) except for cropping

I guess the web is just inundated with 'how to be a better photographer' websites.

For me, they are all just so big and I when I participate I don't often get the constructive criticism back that will fill the needs I am looking to fill. I had even received several nasty comments from posting on Flickr a few times. (example: "These are just crappy photos" was one remark! Wouldn't it help the photographer if the commenter explained what they didn't like the photo, what was wrong and how the person could improve?)

Thanks to those who read, participated and commented.

Although I won't be posting here 'right now' (who knows the urge may come upon me again, when I have a bit more time) you can be sure I might be asking you 'How You Got That Shot' when I visit your blogs.

FINAL Favorite Photo Friday (Saturday and Sunday) Week #20

Welcome to Favorite Photo Friday Week #20
Where you can Link-up your post up on Friday - Saturday - or Sunday

THIS WILL BE OUR LAST POST

Do you have a favorite photo you took or worked on this week?
The purpose of the blog is for us to learn how you got the shot,
so here are some guidelines to give you some ideas!

1. Select your favorite photo of the week (one that you took).
2. Create a blog post about it.

Share with us as many details as you are able using the following questions as a guide. You can share as little or as much info as you can. But PLEASE remember, tell us something about how you got the shot, the purpose of this is so we can learn from one another.

*Camera type:
*Lens (if an SLR)
*Settings (most digital software programs have this info on each picture)
*Was this a posed or random shot?
*Did you use any special lighting or techniques?
*Is this SOOC (straight out of the camera?)
*Did you edit it? If so please share the original shot as well. Then tell us what you did to it! Then tell us what you did and what program you used.
*Why is this your favorite shot of the week.

3. Once you publish your post, come back here and enter the link for that post.McLinky will be open between Friday morning (6am til Monday 3am EST)

4. Visit as many participants as you can. Talk to one another, leave commentsregarding the shot and the content. Ask and answer questions they might have. The goal here is to help us improve our photography, not just receive accolades.

5. If you come back here between Sunday and Wednesday and leave a comment on this post - telling me which one was your favorite, I will post the photo with the most comments on next weeks page.
